This Privacy Policy explains how Glide ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Glide mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using Glide, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), username, display name, profile photo, and bio.
- Skating activity: sessions you log, including date, duration, rink, notes, rating, mood tags, elements practiced, visibility settings, and any photos or videos you attach.
- Social activity: follows, kudos, comments, and likes, plus rinks you join or submit to our shared rink database.
- Communications: messages you send us via email or any in-app contact channels.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and usage information: approximate device type, operating system version, and basic interaction logs needed to operate and debug the Service.
- Crash and error reports: diagnostic information generated when the app crashes or encounters an error.
Glide does not collect your precise location. Rinks are identified by their entry in our rink database, not by your device's GPS.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including features like sessions, the rink directory, and social interactions.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Show your content to other users in accordance with the visibility settings you choose.
- Send you account-related notifications, including in-app activity like kudos, comments, and follow requests.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and policy violations.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
With other Glide users
Your profile, sessions, and other content you choose to share are visible to other Glide users according to the visibility setting on each session (everyone, followers, or only me) and your account's privacy setting. Rinks you add to the shared rink database are visible to all users.
With service providers
We use third-party providers to operate Glide. These providers process information on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and realtime services. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare R2 — object storage for photos and videos you upload. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Apple — for app distribution and crash reporting on iOS. See Apple Privacy Policy.
For legal reasons
We may share information if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law, a lawful request from a government authority, or a court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Glide, our users, or the public.
In a business transfer
If Glide is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Your Choices
- Profile privacy: set your account to private to limit who can see your profile and sessions.
- Per-session visibility: choose whether each session is visible to everyone, your followers, or only you.
- Edit or delete content: update your profile, edit a session, or delete sessions and comments at any time from within the app.
- Delete your account: contact us at lumyn.glitchreport@gmail.com and we will delete your account and associated data, subject to limited exceptions (e.g., information we are required to retain by law).
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, sessions, and uploaded media within a reasonable period, except where we are legally required or permitted to retain it (for example, for fraud prevention or to comply with legal obligations).
6. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Glide is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.
8. International Users
Glide is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those in your home country.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
